For Faculty
Welcome Message
The mission of the Student Academic Resource Center (SARC) is to promote undergraduate student learning, academic achievement, and retention. Building strong partnerships and collaborations with you, the faculty at UCF, will help us accomplish that mission. Allow the SARC staff to share with you their experience and expertise and customize our services and programs to enhance teaching and learning in your class.
For those of you who are already partnering with us, we want to take this opportunity to extend our "Thanks" for all of your wonderful support in our mission for student success. For those of you who would like to start a partnership partnered with SARC or if you are interested in connecting with us in other ways, we encourage you to look through the following section on how to connect with SARC.
Faculty Connections
Here you will find various ways to connect with SARC from academic success workshops to incorporating Supplemental Instruction or Tutoring as a part of you course curriculum.
Academic Success Workshops - Visit web page
- Request a Workshop - SARC presenters will be more than willing to come out and present a workshop to your class on the topic of your choice. These workshops are presented in an informative and interactive manner and you will notice a difference in students' attitude towards learning. Click on the above link for more information on requesting a workshop for your class.
- In previous semesters, some faculty, have provided extra credit to students if they attend one or more academic success workshop. Documentation of attendance at these workshops can be provided the very next day.
Tutorial Services Information - Visit web page
- Faculty who have been willing to develop a strong partnership with the SARC tutorial staff have noticed an improvement in student's test scores and just as important, class attendance and participation, and an improved attitude towards learning.
- You will receive an advertising packet from SARC at the beginning of the semester. Included will be the semester tutoring schedule. We would appreciate you announcing to your class the tutor's schedule and encouraging students to participate on a regular basis.
- SARC can provide a detailed report regarding the number of students who have attended tutoring on a weekly, monthly, or semester basis.
- We appreciate faculty working in conjunction with tutors and assisting them if they have any questions or concerns regarding discussions during tutorial sessions.
