Benefits of Tutoring:

  • Extra assistance
  • Working with a fellow UCF student
  • Hearing the material from a different point of vie
  • Able to work at a slower pace
  • Provides feedback about your approach to the course

What will occur during a tutorial session?

  • Your tutor will answer any questions you may have concerning class material and study skills.
  • Tutoring is not a place to do strictly homework - the tutor will help you with concepts and terms you may not understand. Homework is work to be done at home!
  • You tutor will assist you with note-taking, test-taking, reading the textbook, how to get the most out of your class lecture, and how to study for your particular subject test.
  • It is up to you to structure the tutoring sessions - the tutors are here for you!!

BRING TO EVERY TUTORIAL SESSION:

  • Course syllabus
  • Course notes and all materials given out in class
  • Textbook
  • List of questions for the tutor
  • Pens/pencils
  • Calculator - if necessary
  • and most importantly, a positive attitude
